Emmy award winning producer/editor Jeremy Gossett brings a fresh perspective to Backstage Jazz. As a voting member of the Jazz Journalist Association in New York City, Gossett can always be found covering the heart of jazz from the Big Apple, to his home in Oklahoma.
Known as the voice of the Pride of Oklahoma’s University of Oklahoma Marching Band, Gossett is passionate about jazz music and sharing it with others. Gossett is a graduate of the Film and Video Studies program at the University of Oklahoma and received training and experience working for Paramount Pictures, Levenson & Hill Advertising, KFOR-TV, and the University of Oklahoma. Jeremy Gossett began his company, Gossett Productions, LLC in 1992.
20 years of professional experience in film, television, and sound production have led Gossett to believe in the power of not just seeing or hearing a television or radio program, but feeling, and believing it. “Soundscaping”, is how Gossett refers to the craftsmanship of creating experiential and emotionally driven radio. “I like to bring you right next to the musicians backstage through sound, where we talk about the music together, and then you hear it for yourself.”
“As in jazz, the serendipity of life is full of spontaneous emotion and magic just waiting to be captured. It is only when we open our eyes and ears to all that is going on around us that we become fully aware of the power of life’s beauty through music. I am incredibly excited about our Backstage Jazz radio series. The combination of intimate interviews and dynamic performances recorded exclusively for Backstage Jazz will bring you closer to the artists and venues, while taking us inside the music of this amazing art form. We will bring breathtaking cinematic soundscaping life to your living room, car radio, or wherever you are, for you to experience in a whole new way,” Gossett says.
