Area Enjoys Cameron University Carillon

Lawton, Ok. – If you are in the area of the Cameron University campus at 2800 West Gore, you already know about the carillon system that plays tunes following the chimes at the top of the hour.
The system was a gift to the university from 1935 C.U. graduate Ina Mae Stapp in 2001 who presented it in memory of her husband O.M. "Bud" Stapp.
The digital unit can be programmed to play up to 150 tunes including the state song, "Oklahoma," and the university's "Cameron Pride." It is often heard to play patriotic themes during special holidays, plus holiday music in December and even "Auld Lang Syne" as the new year begins.
