Crimestoppers Reward Offered in Lawton Shootings

Lawton, Ok. – Lawton police have been continuing to investigate the shootings at 315 S.E. Warwick Way that took place Tuesday, May 6, about 12:30 a.m. which left one man dead, another suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
According to Captain William Matthis, the commander of Lawton's Criminal Investigations Division, officers found Travis Birchfield, 22, dead at Pine Terrace Apartments, while Christopher Kopsky, 22, was wounded. Matthis said he expected a condition report Wednesday afternoon on Kopsky who had been hospitalized. Birchfield's body had been sent to the state medical examiner's office for autopsy.
The captain stated so far investigation has revealed several men apparently fled the scene after shots were fired.
Matthis said Crimestoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to arrest and charges being filed. Callers can remain anonymous and the number to call is 355-INFO.
