First Ok. Don't Call Telemarketer Program Deadline 12/1

Oklahoma City, Ok. – The Don't Call program list first started to accept registration for its initial list to be provided to telemarketers in mid-September and in the first week had more than 202,000 phone numbers from Oklahomans. The Oklahoma Attorney General's Office was assigned the task of handling the implementation of the program passed by the state legislature this year.
The telemarketing calls to be eliminated are those dealing with certain classes of commercial concerns, but nonprofit organizations, religious and certain other types of calls by telemarketing groups will still be allowed to ring the phones of those on the list.
It does not cost to sign up and to register with the 24-hour a day phone line call tollfree, 1-800-390-5708. Online registration is easy to do at Attorney General Drew Edmondson's website at www.oag.state.ok.us. Registrations received after the Dec. 1 deadline will be put on the second list to be prepared.
