KCCU has begun broadcasting our HD2 signal on 102.9-FM in Lawton. This means listeners in Lawton can now hear our HD2 programs without having to purchase an HD radio. Since 102.9 is a translator it has a limited broadcast radius, but the signal covers the city of Lawton.
When KCCU-Lawton upgraded the 89.3 transmitter and increased the wattage in 2012, the coverage issues in parts of downtown Lawton were eradicated. All of Lawton as well as Comanche County now receives a satisfactory signal over 89.3 FM. Most KCCU-Lawton listeners listen to 89.3 or stream our signal via the internet or smart phone. This made duplicating our primary signal on 102.9 unnecessary.
