Lawton Concert to Dedicate Refurbished Piano Cancelled

Lawton, Ok. – A special concert set for January 17 at 8 p.m. to rededicate the newly refurbished grand piano at McMahon Memorial Auditorium in Lawton has been cancelled.
The concert was planned by the Lawton Philharmonic Society, and the board's president said the piano soloist who had been scheduled to perform with Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra before the '03-04 season was cancelled, had agreed to perform. But the concert was cancelled after continuing problems with the muscians union which is based in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Those who had purchased tickets can contact the LPO for refund information.
