Oklahoma Attorney General 'leaning' Toward Governor's Race

Oklahoma City, OK – Attorney General Drew Edmondson says he's ``leaning'' toward running for governor in 2010.

Edmondson told the Tulsa World he's ``leaning more and more in that direction.''

He's already has raised nearly $300,000 for a 2010 re-election bid and that money could be transferred to a governor's race.

Governor Brad Henry cannot run again because of term limits.

Other potential Democratic candidates include Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins and Treasurer Scott Meacham.

Congresswoman Mary Fallin has been mentioned as a possible Republican candidate.

Edmondson was elected attorney general in 1994 and won re-election in 1998, 2002 and 2006.
