Oklahoma City, OK – Records show Oklahoma's American Indian tribes have donated nearly $900,000 to candidates for local, state and national offices this year.
And in the last two years the tribes have given another $1.16 million to state and national political committees and political parties.
A copyright report by The Oklahoman says federal records show Oklahoma tribes are second to California in donations to federal campaigns.
State tribes contributed about $525,000 to Democrats running for state or federal office in 2008 while providing about $340,000 to Republicans.
